Easter Dinner with Grandma Robyn and Bob

Robyn and Bob invited us to Sunsets for dinner on Sunday, but Pete had to work so just Claire and I went. Claire did such a great job at dinner after a very long day and I was so proud of her. She loved the presents Grandma Robyn and Bob bought her and spent a lot of time on Grandma's lap playing and talking with her. We had a wonderful Easter, but it would have been even better with Pete. Maybe next year.

Easter

Checking out the goods from the eggs.

Since Pete was working Megan was kind enough to invite us over to her parents for an Easter brunch after church. We had a rough night so I was a little worried about spending the whole day away from home, but Claire did great. She even napped at the Solberg's house, with a little help Papa Rich. He was sweet enough to hold her until she feel asleep. Megan and Andrew set up an Easter egg hunt for Claire at her parent's house that she loved. It's not bad when you get 18 eggs for yourself. She is lucky to be so spoiled by them.

Easter Morning

"Really Mom"

Claire was very excited when she woke up to see that the Easter Bunny had come to our house. She loved finding all the eggs that were hidden around the house. She kept saying, "Nother egg, Mom." It was a little rushed because we needed to get ready for church, but it was still fun.

Mommy and Claire Day

That wasn't messy at all.

Claire and I have a lot of these days, but each one is very different. On this day we spent the morning at the MN Zoo seeing farm babies and playing on the playground. Claire had just started potty training so I was a little worried about going to the zoo, but she went three times there and did a great job. She is such a big girl now. When we got home Claire took a nap and then we made homemade sugar cookies together. It seemed like a really good idea at the time, but it was a lot more work than I had anticipated. Pete had to work on Easter so we wanted to make him cookies to bring to work. It was still very fun and worth all the time and energy to took out of me.

Coloring Easter Eggs Round 2

We invited Megan, Andrew and Carter over for dinner and we thought we should also color some eggs together. The kids had a great time playing together and Claire loved coloring more eggs. I love that Claire as cousins close to her age that she will grow up with. It's just the start of many fun traditions.

Coloring Easter Eggs Round 1

Time for stickers.

Patiently waiting to start.

Claire and I had fun coloring some eggs together. We only did a couple eggs to start off because I wasn't sure how well it would go. She actually did really well given the fact that she isn't gentle with anything. I love all the fun activities we get to do together.

Chuck-E-Cheese

We had a family day together so we spent the morning at Chuck-E-Cheese. I'm pretty sure that Pete enjoyed the games more than Claire, but her and I enjoyed the people watching. Then we picked up some ice cream on our way home to finish off a great morning. It was fun spending the time with just the three of us.

Another Day at the Children's Museum

Now that we have a membership to the Children's Museum we like to go every couple weeks. Claire loves it and it is a fun way to spend a morning. We didn't realize until the day, but Jen and Henry were also going to the Children's Museum so we met up with them. We had a great time together.

Easter Egg Hunt 2011

Claire wants to be just like her dad.

It wasn't great weather, but we still toughed it out and went to the Easter Egg Hunt in Woodbury. We met the Huebschers and Andersons so it was a fun night for everyone. Claire actually understood what she was supposed to do this year and loved it so we had so much fun watching her. She was very excited to collect eggs and she did a great job helping Samantha find eggs. I love that we have traditions with great friends.

Play date

We were very excited to have "Beffy" and Jackson over for some playing and dinner recently. Even though Claire doesn't see Beth every day she still talks about her often. We had a great time catching up and watching the kids play together.
